The Need For Racial Justice

At Live Better 360, we stand firmly with the fight to eradicate the racial injustice, police brutality, violence, and discrimination that has been going on. The past week’s events have been painful and upsetting, and are weighing extremely heavy on our community. It is it our duty to use our platform to educate, advocate, and help to create the change that is necessary for people like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many more, to receive the justice they deserve.

It is time for us to go beyond our normal comfort zone in order to drive positive change forward. The fight for inclusion, equality, and human rights is in our hands, and even in our children's hands. We are not born hating one another, as hate is something learned. If we can all learn to love one another instead of hate, then we are heading in the right direction. Building each other up in times of hate, racism, and violence can make a difference.

Let's hold politicians accountable, sign petitions, donate, and educate ourselves, friends, family, and even people who may disagree with us. It's about ACTION! Below is a list of organizations from which you can learn, donate to, and actively engage with in creating a community of love, peace, and equality.

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) - They are currently working on pursuing the investigation of George Floyd’s wrongful murder and ensuring that the cops who killed him are brought to justice. They also continuously work in the courts, legislatures and communities to defend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all people in this country. They have massive amounts of resources and education materials on their website. Please spread awareness and proper education.

Donate to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Legal Defense and Education Fund - This was founded in 1958 by Thurgood Marshall and donations go to help win landmark legal battles, protect voters across the nation, and advance the cause of racial injustice, equality, and an inclusive society.

Black Lives Matter - Founded in 2013, Black Lives Matter works to provide justice, freedom and healing to the black community across the world. On this site, you are able to sign petitions, donate to their campaigns for racial justice, and find educational materials to further your knowledge of what we need to do for equality. If you are unable to donate, remember that education can change the world. - An important step we need to take is to make sure we go out and VOTE! This is where we, as a country, can come together and elect leaders who effectively stand with the black community. On this site, you are able to register to vote, check if you are registered to vote, change your address, request an absentee ballot, and learn more about your State's voting laws.

Our voices are powerful together, therefore we must stand together, act together, and keep fighting together.
